Because PES 09 already got its own topic and the BETTER footie only has got a DEMO topic, here's a topic for all FIFA 09 discussions.

I bought FIFA 09 for the PS2 last week: controls are very very awesome, really feels great, more tactics and stuff. Unfortunately there are still the same errors in the Dutch commentary, when I've won with fi. 2-0 the commentator says "I always knew it would be penalties" and stuff like that!

What I also dislike is the fact that the Manager (Coach) option is the same as in 08, could have been way better. Still waiting for a footie where the combination between managing and playing the game are both awesome!

But... FIFA 09 looks incredible and the gameplay is also awesome!

What are your opinions?

Haven't played FIFA for years now. :+
I was just wondering of they still use the same graphic and stuff, cause I heard a review of those EA sport games some time ago, and they said that mostly they just updated the players and nothing else, but the 09 should be something different? So I am curious :)

In my opinion FIFA 09 is the best footie game ever created, but I have played the FIFA games for yearrrrrrrrrrrs!

Graphics wise it looks awesome, the most well known players are easyly recognizable.
Don't really see how they can update a green pitch though. Grass is grass so there is not much they can change about that :+

The gameplay is great as well. I was quite impressed on how different it is from fifa 08. ^O^ ^O^

Have it on xbox 360, and the graphics are better than before, so is the gameplay ^O^

Haven't tried the PC version, but TBH isn't the PC game industry going the same way as the Dow Jones?

yeah ... on PC last good fifa was on 98 with RTCW and maybe 99 ... next ones suck till today ... tho the x360 version of 2008 - wooot _O_ was surprised when i played it on kayem 360

Does the FIFA port still come from the PS2 version? Graphics didn't look good at all IMO, even PES graphics are better on PC.

Still: a lot of people say that the gameplay is better this year.

So first I'm going to buy PES, and if it sucks, or if the online mode sucks again, I will buy FIFA too.

The console version of PES is just utter crap, yeah the gameplay is nice but its to outdated, it's just isnt a finished product.
Konami just can't keep up the pace that EA is doing atm, so they just bring out a slightly updated version of 2008, wich also was crappy.

Yeah, FIFA seems to beat PES on everything on X360 and PS3 now.
But I don't have those, so I can't even give a crap.

I really dont know why PC version of Fifa games are so fucking crap compared to the console versions... :{

Anyway, FIFA 09 on X360 is pure awesomeness this year _O_

I'm afraid I've to agree with you. Always bought PES till last years Pro Evo 2008. The new Pro Evo just couldn't satisfy me and I got the feeling that I play with a slight different version of 2008.

That's why I bought Fifa 2009, which rocks btw :)
